The elusive leopard is still untraceable and as many as 75 persons from the Forest department are searching for the Leopard at Race/Golf Course Belagavi.
12 or more trap cameras have also been put up at various places to find its location and also 3 cages have been placed with baits but the elusive leopard hasn’t been caught.
Now a few citizens have claimed that on Friday night around 10-10.30 pm they saw the leopard jumping over the wall of the race course while they were traveling on the double road from Hindalaga Ganpati temple to Hanuman Nagar.
The police were informed about the same and then the same was conveyed to the forest department.
According to the sources, the forest department conducted a search operation in the Kuvempu Nagar, and Hanuman Nagar areas. However, no concrete evidence of this jump was visible like pug marks on the route mentioned.
For more than 8 days now 22 schools have been given a holiday since the leopard was sighted in Jadhav Nagar which had attacked a mason.
