Councilors ask money for cooperation

Photo of author

In a country which is fighting corruption in Belgaum we have a something more to add to this corruption.

Mayor Manda Balekundri yesterday alleged that a few councilors of the Belgaum city corporation demanded Rs.20 lakhs for getting their cooperation. However the Mayor declined to reveal the names.

Mayor was forced to postpone the administrative meeting to June 13 as the Commissioner, in-charge Commissioner and Revenue Officer Satish Potdar and several other officials failed to turn up for the meeting. Absence of the various Chairpersons of the various standing committees was also notable.
