Criminal cases for violation of COVID norms for ceremonies – Tahsildars to give permission

Initially from Tahashildar in Belagavi city as well, after few days the corporation commissioner and the Chief officers of Urban local bodies will issue the permissions which would be intimated.

In Belagavi city as well to begin with the permission will have to be sought from the Tahsildar Belagavi.

The Tahsildars of the respective talukas will be the only sanctioning authority for marriages and other scheduled ceremonies as per the government’s Guidelines for Covid norms, said Deputy Commissioner Dr. K Harish Kumar.

He has further warned that a criminal case will be filed against those who perform the ceremony without obtaining permission or violating the norms.

As per the guidelines only 50 persons are now allowed for any marriage it may be indoors or outdoors. For the same permission has to be sought from the respective Tahsildar.

Organizers must comply with the conditions imposed when granting permission. In case of violation, stringent measures will be taken against them, including the sections under the Disaster Management Act.

The District Collector has warned that if the rules are violated, not only the organizers of weddings and other ceremonies but also the owners and managers of halls community houses, etc., will be brought to account.

Nodal officers will be deployed in the respective taluks to monitor the marriage and other ceremonies, which are obtained by the Tahsildar’s permission, said DC Dr Harish Kumar.

A videographer will monitor the event. He warned that if the conditions and the Covid guidelines were violated, the ceremonies would be stopped immediately.

  1. How much is permission fee and incidental charges one has to pay in Thahsildar office?
    And how much greesing one has to do without permission

    Who will pay for political celebrates or are they as usual exempt from law compliance?
    These laws are only encouraging corruption.
