  1. As An Ex-Alumnus(1944-1953) Of St.Paul’s High School, Camp,Belgavi(Old Belgaum), I Had the good fortune of attending the 150Th Anniversary of my school way back in Dec.2006. In between this celebrations , I took a stroll on the High Street in the day-time. There, at the end of High Street(Goje Buildg.side), I spotted an Army (OG Coloured) Gypsy Van parked at a small shop and a sprightly elderly well dressed gentleman stepping out of the van to make some purchases from the shop. Not knowing him personally, I walked up to this gentleman ,wishing him, I introduced myself to him and inquired from him his credentials and the pretty looking van. He told me his name as Col. Stanley, veteran of the MLIRC. and that he was residing in Nanawadi. I told him that I was the son of An Ex-Army JCO,who served in the MLIRC and had retired in 1953 and migrated to Pune( Maharashtra). That I was an Alumnus of St. Paul’s H.S. and had come over from Pune to attend the anniversary function of my school. Col.Stanley spoke very kindly with me for those few moments on the roadside. He wish me luck and long life and we parted our ways after that. Indeed very sad to hear He Is NO MORE. Would have made it a century in age in a couple of years hence. My condolences to his family members.
Col. JD.Stanley,(Veteran) R.I.P. (Jan Mohamed Shaikh.)
