In a press briefing Abhay Patil, the former Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, has alleged that the projects initiated in the Belgaum South Assembly constituency during his tenure have come to a halt. More than 125 works had been taken up but all are halted which were under the special 100 crore grant. Works of Mahadwar Road in Shahpur, Brahma Nagar, Valmiki Nagar, Piranwadi, Angol, Dhamne and Yallur to substantiate his claims.

The MLA demanded the district administration to blacklist contractors who were responsible for poor quality works and take action against officials who complied with them.
MLA alleged that the Congress govt. is not interested in completing the pending projects for reasons only known to them.
The 5 crore fund released by the then BJP govt for the heritage park at Vaccine depot has been withdrawn the MLA told.

The work on the setting up of a Grameen jeevan museum at Vaccine Depot was begun even before the tenders were floated has now come to a stand still.
