The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday fielded Eranna Kadadi and Ashok Gasti as it’s candidates for the June 19 Rajya Sabha elections from Karnataka, ignoring the recommendations of the state BJP unit which had recommended 3 term MP Prabhakar Kore and also Ramesh Katti.
Kadadi hails from Sri Allamprabhu Kalloli Post, Gokak Taluka Belagavi district, a former president of district unit and former Zilla Panchayat president (2010), he has been seen as a soft-spoken leader of the party who does not have any record of discord with party leaders and workers.
54-year-old Eranna Kadadi commenced his active political career in 1989 and unsuccessfully contested the assembly election from Arabhavi constituency in 1994 on a BJP ticket.
He was the party in charge of the Belagavi division, during the 2018 Assembly elections and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Many feel that BJP as an organization has recognized his contribution and named him for the Upper House elections.
