The Election Commission is set to launch a nationwide drive for linking Aadhaar numbers with voter identity cards (EPIC). The voluntary move is intended to help create “clean and transparent” photo-based electoral rolls, removing all duplications. In Belagavi as well this can be done from today.

Process of Seeding Aadhaar with EPIC
The Aadhaar- EPIC linking process is known as seeding and is carried out through the NVSP portal. The steps to seed Aadhaar with EPIC can be done through multiple channels, as mentioned below:
Seeding Aadhaar Online through NVSP Portal:
To seed your Aadhaar card with your EPIC card through the NVSP portal, kindly follow the steps outlined below:
Login/Register to go forward
After you have logged in –
Click – Information of Aadhaar Number by existing Electors
Then click Click FORM 6 B – Letter of Information of Aadhaar number for the purpose of electoral roll authentication
Fill the details with you Aadhaar number and submit it.
If you don’t have an Aadhar you can submit/Upload (in JPG format) one of the following documents as well
1. MNREGA Job card
2. Passbooks with photograph issued by Bank/ Post Office
3. Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labor
4. Driving License
5. PAN Card
6. Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR
7. Indian Passport
8. Pension document with photograph
9. Service identity card with photograph issued to employees by Central/ State govt./PSUs/ Public Limited Companies
10.0fficial identity card issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
11. Unique Identity ID (UDID) Card issued by M/o Social Justice and Empowerment, GoI.
Seeding Through Phone:
The Aadhaar can also be linked to the APIC card by calling the dedicated call centers set up for the purpose.
Simple call 1950 on weekdays between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm and provide your EPIC and Aadhaar card information to link the two.
Seeding Through Booth Level Officers:
You can also link your Aadhaar card with your EPIC card by submitting an application to your respective Booth Level Officer (BLO).
The BLO will conduct a door-to-door survey, when your information will be recorded.
The information will be sent for processing following the collection of the information.
Alternatively, e-Seva centres, special camps as well as Voter Facilitation Centres will conduct this activity. You can check with your local voter office for details on when these special camps will be run in your locality.
Some of the above services may not be active currently in all states.
