In a shocking incident, a 18 year old Diploma student of Maratha Mandal Polytechnic allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze and jumping in front of a moving train.

The incident occurred near First Railway gate and the deceased has been identified as Sanjana Angolkar.

She was identified with the bag which was lying next to her and it also contained a letter which stated that she was committing suicide as she was fed up of her illness. She was ill from the past 4-5 years and this took her into depression and she took this harsh decision, the police said.

The letter starts with,

God Forgive me for my wrong doings and I am committing suicide because of my health problems and no one should be held responsible for my death.

Th girl goes on to write and ask her parents to adopt a baby girl and dont worry your Sanjana has not gone anywhere she is near you only.

On Friday she had been to her college as regular on Friday morning and was very normal with her friends, said her college mates. She boarded the college bus after classes and left for home. Sanjana stepped out of the bus at Tilakwadi saying she had some work and would meet her friends later. She had all planned it well in advance, as police fear she had the petrol in a bottle which she used to set herself a blaze.

  1. As a crude step moving further, I request the government to make it strict for not selling any Fossil fuels in bottles or any kind of portable vessel. This means you can buy petrol only in your vehicle’s petrol tank and makes sure you don’t use it for any other purpose.

Let’s keep the family in our prayers and be with them in their griefs.

Suicide is not a solution for anything people, talk to your friends and family for any of your problems, this is 2017 – everything has a solution today !

Problem-solving needs much lees courage than committing suicide, please give yourself a chance and do not take away that precious life.

May your soul rest in peace…

    • It’s useless actually..Anyone can take Petrol from any vehicle and misuse it.
Better way is, schools & colleges should teach every student to face their problems & live their lives with peace.. instead of teaching heavy formulas which are least useful!

  3. Restricting petrol carrying in bottles wont help instead it will be troublesome for few real needy ones . If someone wants to commit suicide, it will be done any how.

Committing suicide is not at all a solution for any problem.
May God give strength to the family and her Soul RIP.

  6. Medical expenditure has become unaffordable. And some people find death more peaceful than living with pain and depression. Had medical facilities (were) made within the reach of common people, Sanjana would have given another chance to live.

  10. sir, it happens so if no proper company of friends or relatives. i feel for controlling such events the parent should take precautionary measures first and ..counselling is need of the day in the society i feel. MENTAL HEATH IS MORE SUPERIOR THEN THE PHYSICAL HEALTH we have to think only off ill health now BUT THINGS MAY NOT BE SO… without proper guidance the youths of inda are acting now according to their wills but not on the grounds of principles. energy of youth is at crossroads because of employment. all are employed as propoganda agents but not of duty minded. this way be killed first…

  11. Parents and teachers has to make our children’s mentally strong from beginning. Always we have to talk to them and tell about what is going on in society. Giving moral support is vary important for children’s. When children’s are not doing good in studies. Instead of shouting and comparing with other children’s. We have to calm and try to improve them slowly. We have to keep good atmosphere in the house also.

So many children’s are taking wrong steps in small age & I agree that Suicide is not Solution. We have to fight to come out of any problem. If you make your mind. You will come out.

  13. Sad end to a beautiful life. No one knows exact reason. One thing is certain, she was in depression, long standing. Now no point in analysing cause for depression. May help to avoid Sanjana like incidences.Only health problem is to be blamed? In India health facilities are available at most affordable price compared to any where in the world. You cannot expect five star facilities in road side dhaba. Family and society as a whole, are responsible. Unhealthy competition, unrealistic expectations by family members is the main cause. If real reason is found out and remedial measurs are taken, these incidences can be avoided in future. To day it is Sanjana, tomorrow may be another Sanjana , some where. Pray GOD to give courage and strength to family members. RIP.

  14. I PERSONALLY FEEL THAT HAD SOMEONE SLAPPED HER WHEN SHE WAS POURING PETROL ON HERSELF, SHE WOULD HAVE SURVIVED.(COME ON IT WAS NOT SOME DEODRANT OR PERFUME THAT SHE WAS SPRAYING ON HERSELF) ANYONE WOULD HAVE GUESSED HER INTENTIONS. A LITTLE BIT OF COUNSELING WOULD HAVE BROUGHT HER OUT OF IT. I HAVE SEEN COUNSELORS LIKE ASHWINI BELGAONKAR AND ANJALI PANDIT WHO CAN TALK TO PEOPLE AND CHANGE THEIR MIND SET AND BRING POSITIVE THOUGHTS IN THEIR MINDS. AT LEAST HENCE FORTH LET US REACT INTELLIGENTLY. REST IN PEACE SANJANA. HEARTFELT SYMPATHIES TO THE FAMILY.
