Minister for Youth Services and Sports K. Abhaychandra Jain inspected the progress of the Multi-purpose Indoor Stadium near Krishnadevraya Circle, the foundation for the same was laid by CM Siddaramiah on December 20, 2014.
The work on the project commenced recently. The contract for the stadium’s construction had been tendered to the Bengaluru-based Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited. According to Deputy Director of the Deparment H. Basavaraj, the stadium would have courts for various sports on the first and second floors, including judo and wrestling.

Total estimated cost: 998 Lakhs
600 lakhs from Centre’s Urban sports infrastructure Scheme
398 state Govt funds
2 acres 14 gunthas land at the Youth empowerment and sports department hostel near Krishnadevraya Circle (Kolhapur Cross)
