No voter I-card? You can still vote

It doesn’t matter if your age or gender has been wrongly printed on your Voter ID card, voters who have registered their names but don’t have voter I-cards or possess erroneous cards can vote, provided the information in their supporting document tallies with the information compiled in the voter list.

Alternative list of documents (With photos): authenticated photo voters slip, passport, driving licence, PAN card, service identity cards issued to its employees by the State/Central government, PSUs or public limited companies; bank passbooks with photographs issued by public sector banks/post office and Kisan Passbook (accounts opened on or before 31-3-2013); student identity card with photograph issued by recognised educational institutions; property documents with photograph such as pattas, registered deeds, etc.; ration card; SC/ST/OBC certificates issued by the competent authority; pension documents; old-age pension order or widow pension order; freedom fighter identity card with photograph, and arms licence with photograph, according to a press release issued here on Friday. The other valid photo documents are: certificate of physical handicap issued by the competent authority, ex-servicemen CSD canteen card, Sandhya Suraksha scheme card, job card issued under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Yashaswini card; senior citizen card issued by the government department, health insurance scheme smart card, smart cards issued under the National Population Registry, and Aadhaar card.

 

But the important part is your name must be in the voters list, so please check whether your name exists in the voters list. Also look where is your polling booth.

    Today i realized the worth of my vote. It truly valuable, i was offered few “bucks” to cast my vote in favor of particular candidate. By Evening i had ‘multiple offers’.

    Yes, so its very true our votes are precious & truly valuable.

  2. People are offering mobiles , sarees , cash and other things. These are mainly the new candidates.
    Hope good sense prevails and we choose the right person who thinks for the development of city and rises above linguistic and caste politics

  3. I have my voters card but my name is missing in the voters list ie I cannot vote even after submitting form 6 in march, since i could not cast my vote in the corporation elections. what a sorry state of affairs !!!

    • if u r name is missing u cannot vote.. try searching just with first 3-4 characters of name as there a lot of spelling mistakes
