Today a delegation of the Citizens Council met Shri Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay Secretary (CPV & OIA) Ministry of external affairs and presented the need of opening of the sanctioned POPSK at the earliest.
In his current charge as Secretary (CPV&OIA), Shri Mulay is keen that passport services within India are easily accessible to every Indian citizen and similarly the Indian visa process is made more efficient.
After having a fruitful meeting with the delegates who presented all the RTI documents and follow up done by this very website, Shri Mulay said that ultimatum and warning communication to the 156 POPSK which are still pending including Belagavi.
He told delegation that, the MEA has already sanctioned all the necessary goods and people required for the setting up of the POPSK, the delay is due to the Post department which have to house the said POPSK.
He also said, that in the next 60 days the POPSK will start functioning in Belagavi as well.
As per the RTI reply by the Department Of Post they have replied “ No correspondence / meetings made by Dept Of Post either with MEA or Karnataka State Govt after 01.09.2017”.
Even as per the RTI filed earlier with the Department of Post and we have got a reply as to, there was no direct correspondence by the Belagavi GPO with MEA or the State Govt except for the one visit by the Deputy Passport Officer from Bangalore.
The council also requested to held a Passport mela in the time being which will help the citizens here.
