Rajotsava celebrated and also black day observed

The celebrations of the 57th Karnataka Rajyotsava took off with the ceremonial puja to goddess Bhuvaneshwari Devi and a cultural procession was flagged off at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Tableaux depicting the culture and development of the state besides different folk teams will participated in the procession. Rajjyotsav1Rajjyotsav 2Light showers were continuously pouring since 1030 a.m. which dampened the spirits a bit. There was tight security in the city and 30 CPIs , 10 DySPs, 100 PSIs, 100 ASIs, 1,500 police personnel, 10 each KSRP and DAR platoons were deployed in the city.

The MES took out a two-wheeler rally from Sambhaji Udyan, Mahadwar Rd, Tashildar Galli, SPM Rd, Khade Bazaar, Basveshwar Circle and rally ended at Maratha Mandir. Activists wore black ribbons on their arms and carried black flags to protest against the inclusion of Belgaum and several other towns in Karnataka during the reorganisation of States.01

Kannada and Culture Department has organised cultural programmes for school and college students. Folk artistes, vocalists, and instrumentalists will participate in the programme which will be held at the Kumar Gandharva Rangamandira at 5.30 p.m.

  3. Black Day, Durga mata Daud, Ganesh Utsav, and SHIV JAYANTI ARE NOT SPONSORED….. Please see the crowd in black and the others… Respect is commanded and not demanded…. Here people reject rest and support black may be…”nothing against Rajyotsav but do not become a fanatic and compulsive….

  4. Black Day in Belgaum is one of the best and peaceful march/protest going on from last 57 years. This is the classic case of peaceful march in the world. Hats off to the Local people and their patience. We are all with you and hope one day we will see you in Maharashtra ..Aamen 🙂

Aare mere bhai logo kyu jhagad rahe ho akhirme hum sab hindustani toh hai to ladana hai to pakistan se lado aur ye kya belgaum or belagavi lagake rakhe ho hum sab bhai bhai hi toh hai india border me aapke aur mere bhai bhi hai lekin unhone kabhi duja bhav nahi kiya toh aap kon hote ho hamara belgaum hamara belgaum kehne wale hum sab indian hai first preference for hindi language.
    aapan sarv jan indian aahot so marathi,kannada ani hindi hya sagalya language aalayach pahijet belgaum madhe……….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Accept Mahajan Commission like a gentleman.The commission was appointed on Maharahtra’s behest and the learned judge has given his verdict that Belgavi is a historical part of Karnataka.And the “naya” has been given.Accept in good grace
