The ‘live’ bomb which was found in an unattended bag on the premises of Mangaluru International Airport was detonated in a controlled manner.
A high alert was sounded at all airports across the state after the incident came to light on Monday morning.
The Bomb Disposal squad did a through a check at the airport including the arrival, departure and other areas.
The security of the Belagavi airport is with the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF). Around 92 personnel give security cover to the airport round the clock.
