Shiv Shrusti at Shivaji Garden is an orphaned place

Of all the Indian monuments, forts and palaces are most fascinating. Most of the Indian forts were built as a defense mechanism to keep the enemy away but the state of those forts is very pitiable and so is the Shiv Shrusti plan of the BUDA. May be the BUDA has decided that instead of making a good seeable replica of the life of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, people would love seeing it in the manner in which are forts are in.

The BUDA also took up this challenging work building replica and a garden to depict the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Shivaji Garden in Shahpur.

shiv-shrushti-belgaumWork started in November 2012 by the BUDA
Work should have been completed by April 2013
Work is still incomplete, most of the installations have lost their sheen and will have to be remade, reinstalled and the ones installed are no more in working condition.
Tender floated for repairs in June 2016 – No update on that
Again tender floated in May 2017 for  Rs. 1476220 & Rs.2460600 but no bidder finalized

This is a real case of apathy where the BUDA since 2012 hasnt been able to open the doors of this Shiv Shrusti. In those days a fort was built over 25-30 years and here we have another example of how the Govt. is spending lakhs to built a garden where the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj would be depicted. The Govt is not leaving any stone unturned and taking its own time to finish the work so that this too can be a master piece and can see through history.

The work stopped, the laser fountain, sound system everything was in place by October 2013, but the project was delayed, for reasons only known to BUDA as it is doing the said project.

In June 2016 a new tender was floated by BUDA to repair this unused laser fountain but it got no bidders and still nothing is moving forward for this.

BUDA floated two new tenders which were to be opened on May 10, 2017 but nor the tender was opened nor was allocated.

The work has never begun and the initial 1.67 crores spent are in the drains. The persons who take the name of Shivaji Maharaj, also dont seem to be interested in getting this ready which would have otherwise been a feather in the cap of Belagavi.
