Updated 6 pm: the parent teachers association, old boys association and the staff of the school have decided that they will give a united fight against this arrogance of the BEO. All the associations of the school which includes parents teachers and alumni will decide on the exact course of action tomorrow.
The Belgaum Block Education Officer (BEO) Mr.Pundalik issued a notice to St Paul’s High School, Camp, on June 17, demanding an explanation on six issues, which the school management has claimed, is baseless and aimed at harassing the management.

BEOs notice asks clarification on six issues which includes irregularity by the school in replying to letters, Staff not attending SSLC exam duty, Long leave taken by staff, non attendance of departmental meetings, non courteous treatment to parents and officials.

On Tuesday the BEO sent officials to school office to check the records and take photos of the registers.

School Principal Fr Roland Coelho Sj and a few parents at the school asked the officials why this was being done and the officials replied that they were seeking some information under RTE act.

Staff member of the school said that whenever the BEO came to school he directly used to sit in the Principals chair which people say is disgusting and act of arrogance.

Today a meeting of the Parents teachers association will be held at 3 pm at the school and further action to be taken would be decided.

  1. The BEO is a govt servant not suppose to occupy Principal’s Chair…besides if St Paul school has nothing to hide like donation or any malpractice they should respond to RTI , since it is citizen charter request through govt channel

    • Yes, totally. Even the Chief Minister of Karnataka shouldn’t have that sort of authority to come and sit on the Principal’s chair, unless invited to. Certainly Mr. Pundalik has personal problems with the management. Maybe his child must’ve been rejected for an admission, hence that ungainly behaviour.
