Two AK-47 rifles were stolen from the Belagavi Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) training campus area at Halbhavi.
Rajesh Kumar and Sandeep Meena of the Madurai ITBP were undergoing Naxal suppression training at the ITBP camp at Halabavi in Belagavi taluk.
Two AK-47 rifles belonging to them were stolen and a report has been filed at the Kakti police station.
The entire campus including the CCTV footage was checked, however, the 2 AK-47 rifles were not traced.
Both the rifles are missing since August 17 and the police have made a special to investigate the matter.
A special team led by P V Sneha, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime), to investigate the case.
A complaint in this regard has now been filed with the Kakti Police station.
The police say that this is a serious issue and a special investigation will be done to ascertain as tow ho robbed the 2 rifles.
