The State high-level clearance committee (SHLCC) chaired by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has cleared two projects from Belgaum – investments Rs 4,182 crore which would provide employment to 2,331 people. We could not get the details of the projects but most likely one would be the Toyota Engine plant at Kittur and one could be sugar factory.

Also in the cabinet meet, About two acres at Kuvempunagar meant for Hindalga scheme of Belgaum Mahanagara Palike in Belgaum has been proposed to be given to KLE Society on lease for educational purposes.
