The residents of Waghvade submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner opposing the move to acquire 169 acres and 32 guntas of land in survey no.152/1 to set up an IT park.

The villagers said that farmers had been cultivating on the land for the past several decades and their livelihood would be affected if it was acquired.

The park was proposed by the Janata Dal (Secular)-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition government headed by H.D. Kumaraswamy.

But, he later conceded to the demand to shift it to some other location. However, the present government was making a fresh move to acquire the land, the village residents alleged.

The Desur IT park is still lying un utilized for decades now and now the Govt is planing to acquire more land which is surprising.

Agree with the villagers. This is pure land grabbing and nothing else. The government does not seem to care a hoot about displacing people and their livelihood. The Desur park itself is lying unused and now want more land for it, does not make any sense.

Let government vacate all the land held by them and give it to the IT park.
