Creating Wise Riders

A new syllabus is being introduced in colleges. Hand in hand with Rotary Club of Belgaum many reputed colleges will now adopt another very important module to their existing curriculum designed by Rotary. This module will focus on educating students in Traffic rules and regulations so to make them better citizens.

Wise Riders, a Traffic Awareness and Road Safety campaign is a thrust project taken up by Rotary Club of Belgaum, which is doing very well on online platforms, reaching its messages to thousands of students as well as general audiences. Now the next step is to work on the real grounds, reach where actual problem lies. Rotary has started grooming Belgaum Youth for real world. Road Discipline and Sense of Road Safety will be pillars of our Social Discipline and Culture.

Mr. Premchand Lengade a senior Rotarian, Educationalist, Philanthropist, Board Member of many Educational Institutes and an Avid Traveller who has travelled many countries, driving himself, as a hobby, has designed this syllabus, which is divided in Four Modules – Safe Riding/Driving, Understanding of Traffic Road Signs, Maintenance of vehicles and Motor Vehicle Act.

This syllabus has been adopted by Bharatesh Education Trust, KLS, KLE, SKE group of colleges. This syllabus is designed to engage students with advanced teaching methods which are at par international standards. This syllabus will be held in many interactive sessions, where students will be exposed to Video Aids, Demonstrations, Activations, Discussions and Debates and followed by a Quiz. Students will get certificates for attendance and will also get rewards for enthusiastic participation and performance.

On Monday & Tuesday i.e. 24th & 25th Aug 2015, we conducted these sessions in Bharatesh BBA and on Friday & Saturday i.e. 28th & 29th Aug 2015, we conducted the first 2 modules in Gogte BBA and GIT. We got a tremendous response from all these students. The sessions were very interactive and could bring a positive attitudinal change among the students.

We are going to tap majority of the colleges in near future with this program.
