Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan chaired a detailed review meeting on the progress of various road development works being executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in the district, with special focus on the Halga–Machhe bypass road.
Senior officials from NHAI, the Public Works Department, Revenue Department, Police Department, along with representatives of contractors and enforcement agencies, attended the meeting.
During the review, the status of land acquisition for the Halga–Machhe bypass was discussed in detail. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of the bypass in easing traffic congestion within the city and reviewed the overall progress, existing obstacles, and technical challenges affecting the project.

To ensure closer monitoring, it was decided that review meetings would be held every month to track the progress of all ongoing highway projects. The DC stated that road infrastructure plays a crucial role in the district’s overall development and that the administration’s priority is to provide quality roads to citizens at the earliest.
Expressing dissatisfaction over delays at certain locations, the DC directed concerned departments to immediately resolve issues related to land acquisition and shifting of utilities such as electric poles, water pipelines, and telecommunication lines through better coordination.
Stressing that no compromise would be tolerated on quality, he instructed officials to ensure that all works are completed strictly as per prescribed standards and within the stipulated timeline. He also directed the implementation of proper traffic management and safety measures to minimize inconvenience to the public during the execution of the works.
