Balu Forge Industries Ltd has announced the commencement of operations at its newly installed precision machining line at the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing campus in Kakti Industrial Area, Belagavi. The facility features 7-axis and 11-axis CNC machines—among the first of their kind in the region—marking a major technological advancement for the company and the local engineering ecosystem.

The new precision line significantly strengthens Balu Forge’s capabilities in delivering complex, high-tolerance components for critical sectors such as railways, defence, aerospace, and other precision engineering industries. The installation enables the production of intricate components with greater accuracy, reduced setup time, and higher customization flexibility.

Equipped with multi-axis CNC systems sourced from leading manufacturers in Spain and Germany, the line is capable of machining components up to 2.5 metres in length across a wide range of materials, including aluminium and titanium. The enhanced capacity, estimated at 12,000 tons per annum, will support the manufacturing of critical parts such as valve bodies, impellers, turbine blades, brackets, and landing gear components.

This development aligns with Balu Forge’s long-term strategic vision to expand its precision engineering portfolio across global markets. The commissioning also marks another milestone in the ongoing commercialization of its greenfield facility in Belagavi, which will soon house additional high-precision production lines catering to defence and aerospace sectors in a phased rollout.

Founded in 1990 in Belagavi, Balu Forge began with a modest setup producing crankshafts for single- and twin-cylinder engines. Over the decades, the company has evolved into a globally recognized manufacturer, supplying OEMs and the aftermarket across more than 80 countries. Notably, Balu was the first company in India to mass-produce crankshafts for tractors, trucks, and passenger vehicles. Today, the company continues to uphold its reputation for engineering excellence, durability, and innovation—anchored firmly in Belagavi, where it all began.
