Belagavi, long known as an academic hub, has now emerged as a key node in the Government of Karnataka’s launch of 11 new Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) across the state. Three of these are based in Belagavi:
VRIF (VTU) – Belagavi
KLE TBI – Belagavi
ROBIOT (MMEC) – Belagavi
Each has received ₹10 crore funding under the TBI 2.0 initiative to catalyze startups in biotech, clean tech, robotics, ICT, and more.

KLE TBI – NAIN Hub at KLE Tech Belagavi
KLE Dr. M. S. Sheshgiri College of Engineering & Technology (KLE Tech) in Belagavi hosts a New Age Incubation Network (NAIN) Centre, which functions as the KLE TBI. Established in 2018 and recognised under the state’s TBI scheme, it supports student‑led early-stage ventures by providing mentorship, infrastructure, office space, and up to ₹3 lakh seed fund for proof-of-concept development. Participating startups include RFINITY Solutions, Artallur Technologies, and others

Belagavi’s trio of TBIs is transforming Karnataka’s innovation map:
Decentralizing innovation beyond Bengaluru into tier-2 cities.
Creating pathways for hands-on, industry-integrated learning and entrepreneurship.
Enhancing deep-tech and robotics capabilities locally.
Empowering students to stay in the region—working or launching startups—instead of migrating to bigger cities.
Belagavi has swiftly grown into a vibrant innovation ecosystem:
With ₹10 crore backing each, these incubators place Belagavi at the heart of Karnataka’s strategy to nurture innovation, entrepreneurship, and future‑ready skills outside the main tech corridors.
