Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi revealed that the much-anticipated Flyover project in Belagavi, announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, has hit a roadblock due to opposition from local BJP leaders. Addressing the media on Sunday, Jarkiholi stated that repeated appeals from the state government to the Centre have failed to yield progress.
“If the Centre does not respond, the state government will step in to complete the project,” he assured. Jarkiholi estimated the construction would require ₹300 crore, with the state prepared to allocate ₹100 crore annually if necessary.

Belagavi city’s first-ever flyover spanning 4.50 kilometres, is an ambitious project that will stretch from National Highway-48 (NH-48) to Kittur Rani Chennamma Circle, and continue towards the NH via Dr.Ambedkar Road and KLE Hospital. The flyover aims to alleviate the growing traffic congestion in the city.
This is merely an excuse. Nobody will oppose the developmental project in Belgaum, leave alone BJP. Let the minister disclose the communications written to minister Gadkari. Let the people know the truth. Also let the people know why third gate railway overbridge is pending for the last TWO years. It is reportedly pending because the state government has not given the clearance on certain issues connected to this project. Local MP should meet the PWD minister and get the evidence that the centre is not responding. Gadkari will never refuse a project which is feasible from all angles. Let the TRUTH come out in the open.
