In 2025, a total of 44,709 vehicles were registered under the Belagavi RTO, and the numbers clearly show the city’s strong preference for two-wheelers.
The highest registrations came from Motorcycles and Scooters, which alone accounted for 34,684 vehicles, making up the overwhelming majority of new registrations. Far behind in second place were Motor Cars with 6,038 registrations, reflecting steady growth in personal car ownership. Among commercial vehicles, Goods Carriers (1,785) and Three-Wheeler Passenger vehicles (570) also recorded notable numbers, while Agricultural Tractors (551) highlighted the district’s strong rural economy.
At the lower end of the spectrum, several specialised vehicles saw very few registrations. Only one Hearse and one Omni Bus were registered during the year. Similarly rare were Crane Mounted Vehicles (2) and Mobile Clinics (4). A few other categories such as Private Service Vehicles (4) and Commercial Trailers (7) also recorded minimal additions.
Overall, the data underlines a clear trend — Belagavi continues to move on two wheels, while specialised and niche vehicles remain only a tiny fraction of the district’s expanding vehicle population.
