The possibility of holding the Legislative Assembly session in Belagavi during June—rather than the traditional December—was discussed at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting at Belagavi. This has raised doubts about the continuation of the long-standing winter session at the Suvarna Soudha.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar reviewed the session schedule. Traditionally, the monsoon session after the budget is held in Bengaluru, but some members suggested shifting it to Belagavi. Sources say concerns were raised over frequent protests, security issues, and administrative challenges during the winter session in Belagavi.

The meeting also instructed MLAs to present a united front on guarantee schemes and counter the opposition strongly. With the session-schedule proposal emerging unexpectedly, further discussions are expected soon.
