The Karnataka cabinet on Thursday approved holding the winter session of the state legislature in Belagavi for 10 days starting December 8. Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been authorised to take the final decision on the schedule.
Patil also noted that three cabinet sub-committees, which have not submitted their reports for over six months, have been instructed to expedite their work. One committee is examining Justice John Michael D’Cunha’s report on the procurement of medicines and medical equipment during the COVID-19 period.

The second committee is reviewing the financial condition of Karnataka’s universities and suggesting corrective measures. The third committee is assessing developments related to the Bengaluru–Mysuru Infrastructure Corridor and recommending future steps.
While the first two committees are headed by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, the third is chaired by the Home Minister. Patil said the cabinet has directed all three committees to submit their reports at the earliest, though no specific deadline has been set.
