June 2025 turned out to be a dramatic monsoon month for Belagavi district, recording wide variations in rainfall across its talukas. According to data from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, Khanapur received the highest rainfall in the district — an astonishing 792 mm, more than double the normal rainfall of 381 mm for the month. This marks a 108% excess, reaffirming Khanapur’s reputation as one of the wettest regions in the district.
In stark contrast, Mudalagi taluka experienced the least rainfall, registering just 57 mm compared to the normal 79 mm — a 29% deficit. This underperformance could impact local agriculture and water availability if the trend continues into July.

Belagavi taluka itself recorded 313 mm of rain in June 2025, which is a 30% increase over its normal average of 241 mm, suggesting a generally healthy monsoon spell for the central region.
However, the diversity in rainfall across talukas—from heavy floods to light drizzles—underscores the varied monsoonal impact across the district, likely driven by local topography and shifting weather patterns.
