Belagavi-based Kwality Animal Feeds Pvt Ltd has been acquired by Indian Poultry Alliance (IPA), a subsidiary of the Allana Group, for ₹300 crore. In a significant boost to Belagavi’s economy, IPA also plans to invest an additional ₹200 crore into Kwality for further expansion.
The acquisition of Kwality Animal Feeds, a company founded in 1983 and deeply rooted in Belagavi, strengthens IPA’s market leadership in the Indian poultry industry. Kwality, a fully integrated player with operations spanning feed mills, soya processing, breeding farms, hatcheries, broiler integration, and value-added poultry products, holds a strong market presence in West and South India.
This move by IPA will leverage Kwality’s long-standing partnerships with major food service providers and quick-service restaurants (QSRs), enhancing IPA’s supply chain efficiency and expanding its market footprint. The acquisition is set to drive innovation in poultry and animal nutrition solutions within Belagavi and beyond.

Moiz Chunawalla, Managing Director of Indian Poultry Alliance (Allana Group), emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition, stating, “This acquisition further strengthens our poultry value chain, enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and market reach.” He also highlighted IPA’s commitment to investing in advanced technologies, automation, and precision breeding, with a focus on responsible waste management and ethical sourcing.
Furthermore, IPA has outlined a comprehensive expansion strategy, committing to invest ₹2000 crores over the next three years to scale up to seven manufacturing units, integrate advanced technology, and strengthen cold chain logistics and distribution networks. This investment will also fuel expansion into key metropolitan markets and bolster IPA’s export strategy, with three more acquisitions planned this year.
Sanjeev Despande and Ajit Lokur, Director and Managing Director & Co-Founder of Kwality Animal Feeds Pvt. Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, noting, “Joining IPA ensures that vision continues to flourish with enhanced resources and expertise. We are excited about the new growth opportunities this collaboration will bring.”
The acquisition is expected to capitalize on the rising consumer demand for high-protein diets and value-added poultry products, cementing IPA’s leadership position in the industry. The integration process will commence immediately, ensuring a seamless transition for employees, customers, and business partners in Belagavi and across Kwality’s operational areas.
