Belagavi’s Winter Flight Boost Faces Possible Delay Amid IndiGo’s Network Disruptions

Belagavi was all set to enjoy a major upgrade in air connectivity this Winter 2025 schedule, with IndiGo announcing two new daily direct flights — one to Mumbai and another to Hyderabad — starting October 26, 2025. These additions, along with the continuation of the daily Delhi service, were expected to significantly strengthen IXG Airport’s network.

However, IndiGo’s ongoing operational challenges may now cast uncertainty over the timely launch of these new connections.

Over the past week, IndiGo has been cancelling a large number of flights across major airports due to crew shortages and difficulties in adapting to the revised DGCA Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL). The airline has informed the aviation regulator that it will be scaling down operations temporarily and expects to fully restore normalcy only by February 10, 2026. Until then, cancellations and schedule disruptions are expected to continue.

While there is no official communication from IndiGo regarding Belagavi specifically, aviation observers point out that new or recently introduced routes often face delays or temporary suspension when airlines undergo large-scale schedule restructuring. Given the current situation, experts believe the new daily IXG–Mumbai and IXG–Hyderabad flights may experience a delayed rollout or inconsistent operations until the network stabilizes.

For now, Belagavi continues to remain connected to its six key destinations — Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad — but passengers are advised to keep an eye on updates as IndiGo works through this challenging phase.

If IndiGo manages to stabilize operations sooner, the two new flights could still begin as planned. But until clarity emerges, the Winter 2025 boost for Belagavi may arrive a little later than expected.

Sources also indicate that an IXG–NMI (Belagavi–Navi Mumbai) flight may be announced in February 2026 once IndiGo fully restores normal operations.
