The long-awaited flyover from the National Highway (near Shankam) to the 3rd Railway Gate via Channamma Circle is finally set to take off in October, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah slated to inaugurate the project. The announcement was made by District In-charge and Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi during an interactive session organised by the District Journalists’ Association at the Information and Public Relations Office auditorium.

Jarkiholi confirmed that the flyover construction will be executed in two phases and assured that quality will be a top priority throughout. “We are ensuring that Public Works Department projects maintain high standards, especially roads, which are being built to last at least five years,” he stated.

Roadblock on Goa-Belagavi Highway

Despite spending ₹50 crore on development, the proposed widening of the Goa-Belagavi road is on hold due to a lack of clearance from the Forest Department. Jarkiholi also mentioned that a proposal has been submitted to the state government to review the number of police stations based on population metrics.
