Police have arrested four individuals involved in a honey trap scheme aimed at blackmailing a city-based businessman, Vinayak Kurdekar.
The accused, identified as 23-year-old Divya Sapkale of Shahapur, along with her associates Prashant Kolkar (25), Kumar Gorakkanavar (29), and Raju Jadagi (29), were apprehended from various parts of Belagavi.
According to authorities, the group falsely accused Kurdekar of abducting Divya Sapkale and making inappropriate advances while she was asleep. They secretly recorded videos and used them to demand ₹25 lakh from him, successfully extorting ₹10 lakh before the complaint was filed.
Police have seized cash, motorbikes, and mobile phones from the accused. The four suspects were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody pending further investigation.
