GOVINDRAM SEKSARIA SCIENCE – GSS College Belagavi, recently granted autonomous status, is all set to host a grand alumni reunion, titled “Seksarians ’24 Reconnect and Rejoice”. The event will take place on December 28, 2024 at the college grounds, aimed at bringing together alumni from the past 50 years. Principal Arvind Halgekar shared this announcement during a press conference on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Halgekar expressed that the autonomous status is a proud moment for the college’s management, staff, and students. He added, “The reunion is not just a celebration of this milestone but also an opportunity for former students to reconnect with old friends and relive cherished memories on the campus.”
The event will witness participation from alumni spanning from the first batch to the current batch. The alumni association has formed a dedicated committee to organize the reunion and is reaching out through various channels to ensure maximum participation. Halgekar remarked, “This could be the first time a college is bringing together all its alumni in a single event.”
Alumni Association President, Prof. Bharat Topinkatti, provided details about the event: Registration, Inaugural Ceremony, including a felicitation of former principals and faculty members, Batch-wise interaction sessions for alumni to reconnect and share memories, Group photographs and cultural programs to showcase alumni talents.
“The cultural events will provide a platform for alumni to display their artistic skills,” Topinkatti added.

Kuldeep Hangirgekar, the head of the reunion committee, mentioned that this event is a unique chance for all alumni to come together and make it memorable. “Various committees have been formed to ensure smooth planning and execution,” he said, adding that the organizers expect 2,000 participants, with 500 alumni already registered online.
Present at the press conference were Acting Principal Abhay Samant, Alumni Association Secretary Prof. Sandeep Deshpande, Reunion Committee Secretary Prof. Anil Khandekar, and other key office bearers.
This historic reunion promises to be a day of joy, nostalgia, and celebration, uniting generations of GSS College alumni under one roof.
