The Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) has been designated the nodal agency to implement the Integrated Industrial Township Construction Scheme. This initiative aims to develop integrated townships near Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, K.G.F, Vasanthanarasapura of Tumakuru, and Ballari.

The Urban Development Authorities and the Urban and Rural Planning Commission have directed KUIDFC to set up a Program Management Unit (PMU) within the organization. This unit will invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from developers interested in establishing integrated townships on lands identified in the 2024-25 budget.

KUIDFC has submitted a proposal to the government to implement this comprehensive project, which includes both economic/infrastructure development and technical/urban planning aspects. To oversee the financial and developmental aspects, KUIDFC will act as the nodal agency, while the Commissioner, Urban Development Authority, and the Town and Country Planning Commission will handle the review of technical aspects.

The development of these integrated townships is part of a broader strategy to enhance urban infrastructure and promote economic growth in these regions. The project received in-principle approval from the government and is expected to attract significant interest from developers.

The comprehensive township development plan will address various aspects, ensuring well-rounded growth and improved quality of life for residents. This initiative marks a significant step towards the planned urban expansion and sustainable development of Karnataka’s major cities and towns.

    • Why only Bangalore, this city has had more its share and attention.
Look at the 2 and 3 teir cities in Maharashtra like Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik and Nagpur and Amravati and Ahmednagar
In Karntaka after Bangalore there is no other city that is even close or compatible to Pune, Nashik and AhmedNagar.
Every thing is Bangalore for Kartnatka. All the 2 and 3 teir cities are neglected. I think the Karnataka state should be devided into 2 states. North and South Kanataka. And Begaum should be made the capital of North Karnataka.
