Maratha Mandal’s Engineering College, Belgaum, earned a prestigious 3.5-star rating from the Ministry of Education and the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), New Delhi, for 2024. This exceptional score places the college at the top in Karnataka among engineering, medical, MBA, polytechnic, and other degree colleges.
In the overall rankings, the Indian Institute of Science scored the highest 4 stars, making Maratha Mandal’s 3.5-star rating the second-highest in the state. The results were officially announced on January 23, 2025.
The college’s achievement is attributed to its impressive performance in organizing 68 activities, workshops, and seminars throughout the year. Notably, all 68 events received 100% approval from IIC New Delhi, showcasing the institution’s commitment to excellence.

Dr. D.G. Kulkarni, Director of the Engineering College and President of IIC at Maratha Mandal, credited the success to the teamwork of staff and students, as well as a culture of discipline. He highlighted the exploration of over 25 innovative ideas and projects during the year. The institute also hosted extensive training programs led by reputed resource persons and industrialists.
Dr. Rajshree Nagaraju, President of Maratha Mandal, emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in achieving self-reliance for India. She remarked, “Engineering gains value when concepts are applied to create products or services.”
The year-long activities were coordinated by a dedicated team including Dr. Shubha Baravani, Prof. Revansiddapa, Prof. Jamadar, Prof. Bidari, Prof. Sudha, and Prof. Marigeri.
