May 7 – 7 AM to 6 PM – You have to VOTE – Lok Sabha Voting Day guide

On May 7, Belagavi, Chikkodi and others will VOTE and elect their Member of Parliament and eligible voters can vote from 7 AM to 6 PM and here is the Voting Day guide.

All eligible voters must exercise their right to vote and refrain from engaging in leisure activities before casting their ballot. Let us all take responsibility for shaping the future of our community by participating in this important democratic process.

Date of Poll 07.05.2024 (Tuesday) From 07:00 am to 06:00 pm

Mobile phones are not allowed inside the Polling booth- The decision is left to the discretion of the presiding officer on whether to insist on keeping the phones in the tray or ensure that they are on silent mode while voting.

BELAGAVI in total has 13 contesting candidates

Alternative Documents:

For identification of voters at Polling Station, the Voter shall present his EPIC (Voter Card) or any of the following identification documents approved by the Commission:

i. Aadhaar Card,

ii. MGNREGA Job Card,

iii. Passbooks with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office,

iv. Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour,

v. Driving License,

vi. PAN Card,

vii. Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR,

viii. Indian Passport,

ix. Pension document with photograph,

x. Service Identity Cards with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies, and

xi. Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs and

xii. Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card, M/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India

Indelible ink will be applied on the left hand forefinger (as per rule 49k of conduct of election rules 1961).

Citizen can find the polling station and constituency details, its location, route navigation to the booth from their current location etc… just by EPIC number search and name search.

YOU CAN STILL VOTE EVEN IF YOUR NAME IS DELETED BUT IT IS MENTIONED IN ASD LIST

Measures to prevent impersonation of Absentee Voters: BLOs have visited door-to-door and identified a list of voters found absent from their place of residence. Similarly the names of dead, shifted shall also be added to the list. ASD list has already been prepared and marked.

‘Dry Day’ is declared for the constituencies till the completion of the poll. Dry Day declaration orders have been issued by District Collectors.

Welfare measures including health for voters –

i. All the assured minimum facilities have been provided to all the polling stations such as Ramp facility, Drinking Water, Electricity, Furniture, waiting room, clean toilets for male & female and proper signage.

ii. Polling booths will be kept clean and the voter will have pleasant experience during voting.

  1. Thanks for this article. Are mobile phones allowed at the polling booths? I got to know that they were not allowed at some polling booths in Bangalore
