A shocking incident of gang rape involving a 15-year-old minor has come to light within the limits of the Kakati police station in the outer zone of Belagavi.
According to police reports, the victim was gang-raped on two separate occasions by a group of six men. The initial assault occurred six months prior when a friend allegedly lured the girl to a hill. During this incident, the perpetrators reportedly gang-raped her and recorded the act on video. This video was subsequently used to blackmail the minor, leading to a second instance of rape. It is alleged that the men also recorded this second assault.
Following these events, a case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the APMC police station against the accused for the initial gang rape and the subsequent blackmail and repeated assault.

Police acted swiftly, arresting 5 of the accused on the same day the First Information Report (FIR) was filed.
This incident comes just a week after another reported gang rape at a resort in the district, where five individuals, including two juveniles, were arrested. The registration of this new case has raised further concerns about the safety and security of young people in the region.
Police are continuing their investigation and have assured that all efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspects.
