Air travellers commuting between Bengaluru and Belagavi in the morning must consider alternative transportation options, such as buses or flights from other cities. This change comes as IndiGo has decided to discontinue its direct morning flights on this route starting October 27, 2024.
The morning Bengaluru-Belagavi flight had consistently shown strong performance, boasting an impressive passenger load factor of 85% over the past year. Exactly two years after its launch, the abrupt cancellation of this service has caught frequent travellers, off guard. IndiGo has also halted bookings for this route as part of its winter schedule.
Belagavi Airport has already experienced a decrease in passenger traffic due to earlier cancellations of flights to key cities like Jodhpur, Surat, Indore, and Nashik by Star Air. There is also a possibility that the Ahmedabad route could face the axe in the winter schedule.

Travelers in this region have long been advocating for new flight connections to cities such as Chennai, Varanasi, Pune, Kolkata, along with additional flights to Mumbai and Hyderabad. Unfortunately, no new routes have been introduced in the past two years, widening the gap in connectivity for both leisure and business travelers. To make matters worse, even existing flights are being canceled, compounding the frustration. Rather than securing new routes, elected representatives have struggled to even maintain current services. Meanwhile, Terminal 2 is under construction at Belagavi Airport, with an additional 56 acres of land set to be acquired for the expansion.
Great ! I think We can use the new terminal as Badminton Hall…God save IXG !
