Belagavi Lok Sabha Member Jagadish Shettar held a high-level review meeting with officials from the South Western Railway, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Aviation, Tourism, and Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB). The meeting, attended by Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Roshan Mohammad, focused on assessing the progress of ongoing development projects under various departments.
Shettar first sought updates on the land acquisition process for the proposed Ring Road/Bypass Road in Belagavi under the NHAI. He urged officials to expedite the process to ensure timely commencement of road construction.
Discussions then turned to the South Western Railway zone, where officials briefed the MP on the land acquisition status for the Belagavi-Kittur-Dharwad railway line. Shettar emphasized the need for swift action to facilitate the project’s early execution. Additionally, he directed railway authorities to initiate work on flyovers at key railway level crossings—371, 380, 381 (Third Gate), 382 (Second Gate), 383 (First Gate), 392, and 407—after the Central Government approved for their construction.
Regarding road infrastructure, Shettar reviewed the nearly completed resurfacing of the Belagavi-Goa road via Chorla, with only a few kilometres of re-asphalting remaining. He also pressed for the rapid completion of the 11-km Halga-Macche bypass on the Belagavi-Panaji route via Anmod, as well as the Anmod-Ramnagar stretch, which is being developed on a priority basis. Highlighting the severe traffic congestion on the Ramnagar-Londa stretch (approximately 10 km), Shettar urged officials to find immediate solutions to ease commuter difficulties.

In aviation, the MP reviewed the land acquisition process for Belagavi Airport expansion and instructed revenue officials to expedite the necessary steps for further development.
The meeting also addressed tourism development, particularly the Rs. 100 crore Central Government grant for enhancing facilities at the Savadatti Sri Renuka Yellamma Devi temple. Shettar directed concerned officials to ensure timely implementation of projects and to monitor progress closely.
The press release emphasized that all departments must act swiftly and responsibly to complete the planned infrastructure works within stipulated timelines.
