MP Jagadish Shettar chaired a high-level review meeting in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan to assess the progress of major development projects in the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency, undertaken by Central Government departments, including the National Highways Development Authority, Aviation Department, and KIADB.

Belagavi-Kittur-Dharwad Railway Line:
The proposed new railway line between Belagavi, Kittur, and Dharwad requires around 1,200 acres of land. Officials informed that land acquisition between Kittur and Desur is in its final notification stage, with 407.24 acres nearly ready for acquisition. MP Shettar urged authorities to expedite the acquisition of the remaining land to avoid further delays.

National Highways Projects:
The progress of the Belagavi city ring road and bypass road projects was reviewed in detail. The NHAI Project Director was instructed to address any implementation hurdles and speed up the construction process. Updates were also taken on the Belagavi (Sheganmatti)–Hungund–Raichur new highway, with officials reporting that the land survey and acquisition processes are largely smooth and problem-free.
