MP Belagavi Jagadish Shettar held a review meeting to assess the progress of various Central Government development projects in the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency, in the presence of the Belagavi District Collector. Officials from departments including the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), South Western Railway, and Civil Aviation participated.
National Highways Projects:
The progress of the Belagavi Ring Road/Bypass was reviewed, with special focus on the land acquisition between Honaga and Jadashahapur. Authorities were directed to expedite the process. Similarly, the 9 km Halaga–Mache stretch was instructed to be completed within schedule. The MP also reviewed the 43 km Shegunamatti–Hungund–Raichur route, emphasizing quick land acquisition to avoid delays.
A proposed flyover along the Sankam Hotel route in Belagavi city was also discussed, with directions to ensure that once work begins, it proceeds without interruption for timely completion and public benefit.

Railway Project:
The proposed Belagavi–Kittur–Dharwad railway line requires the acquisition of around 1200 acres of land. Discussions were held regarding compensation to affected landowners. The concerned authorities were urged to release compensation promptly to avoid inconvenience to farmers.
Officials from NHAI, Belagavi Airport, Revenue and Infrastructure Departments, and South Western Railway participated in the meeting.
