The RTC(NWKRTC) transport strike has severely impacted daily life in Belagavi. Most staff members have chosen to remain absent from duty, halting regular operations.
Belagavi typically sees around 700 buses in service each day, including 668 buses from the Chikkodi depot. Over 4,300 staff are usually deployed across routes. However, as of now, no buses have left the depots. Only a few buses from distant towns have managed to reach the Belagavi bus stand.
In response, police from the Market Station, including a CPI and three PSIs along with their team, have arrived at the main bus stand. They are actively monitoring the situation to ensure public safety and prevent any disruptions or untoward incidents caused by the strike.
