The Belagavi City Police have detained an accused under the provisions of the PIT-NDPS Act, 1988 for repeated involvement in serious criminal activities under the jurisdiction of the APMC Police Station.
According to police reports, the accused was habitually engaged in offenses related to narcotic drugs, theft, assault, and other property-related crimes. Despite multiple arrests and court proceedings, the individual continued his criminal activities, causing fear among the public and disturbing peace in the area.
Based on the history of repeated offenses, the Commissioner of Police, Belagavi City, invoked Section 3(1) of the PIT-NDPS Act, 1988, which allows preventive detention of habitual offenders involved in narcotic and related crimes. The detention order was approved and executed on October 27, 2025.

Despite repeated legal action, the accused showed no signs of reform. Acting on a proposal by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, the preventive detention order was issued to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
