Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the new train on September 15, with MP Jagadish Shettar attending the ceremony at Belagavi railway station. Shettar, speaking to reporters on Tuesday (September 1), mentioned that he had earlier held discussions with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna a few months ago. During these meetings, Shettar had requested the launch of the Vande Bharat train between Pune and Belagavi, as well as the extension of the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat service to Belagavi.

With the Pune-Hubballi train becoming a reality, Shettar expressed optimism that a decision regarding the extension of the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat to Belagavi would soon be made.

Ram Paul Barpagga, Public Relations Officer of Pune Division, Central Railway, highlighted the importance of this development for the city, noting that a trial run is scheduled for 11 am on September 11. However, he clarified that the official commencement date for the service has not yet been finalized.
