The City Crime Branch (CCB), led by Inspector Nandishwara Kumbar, successfully intercepted an Ashok Leyland goods vehicle transporting a large sum of money without proper documentation on Friday evening. The vehicle was en route from Sangli to Hubli and stopped following credible intelligence about illegal cash movement.
Upon inspection, the CCB team, with the help of mechanical experts, discovered that the vehicle’s cabin had been modified to conceal ₹2,73,27,500.

Sachin Menakudale of Sangli, Maharashtra, and Maruti Maragude, who were involved in transporting the cash, were taken into custody.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the funds and further connections.
