Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar has spearheaded the construction of two critical roads to improve connectivity between Belagavi and Goa. The central government approved a concrete road covering 84 km from Belagavi through Khanapur, Ramanagar, and Anmod to the Goa border and asphalt road connecting Belagavi, Jamboti, Kanakumbi, and Chorla Ghat, with funds released for both projects.
Despite this, the roadwork has yet to commence, leading to a meeting on October 8, 2024, between MP Shettar, officials from the National Highway Authority Dharwad, and the National Highway Authority. The meeting sought to address the delays and expedite the initiation of these crucial projects.
These two roads are vital arteries for trade, commerce, and the transportation of goods between Karnataka and Goa. However, their poor condition has significantly slowed traffic, drawing numerous complaints from the public and business sectors. In response, MP Shettar urged the concerned departments to begin work on the roads without further delay.

Additionally, Shettar received updates from officials regarding the preliminary stages of construction on another important project: a road between Belagavi (Shaganamatti) and Raichur via Hunagund.
Yes winter session is coming up , so that our leaders can travel smoothly to Goa.
