Following the recent terrorist attack on tourists in the Pahalgam region, the Central Government has intensified its crackdown on Pakistani nationals residing in India. An order has been issued directing Pakistani citizens leaving the country immediately. As part of this exercise, states have been asked to report the number of Pakistani nationals within their jurisdictions.
According to the latest data, Karnataka is home to 88 Pakistani citizens, six of whom reside in Belagavi district. These individuals have been living in India on long-term visas. Local police and intelligence agencies are closely monitoring their movements to ensure national security.
The Indian government has, however, made exceptions for Pakistani nationals belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, and Jain communities who had come to India seeking refuge from religious persecution. These individuals have been allowed to stay temporarily, providing some relief.
Authorities are conducting thorough background checks on all Pakistani nationals in the district. Any signs of suspicious activity will prompt immediate action. Police forces and intelligence departments remain on high alert as the government reiterates its firm stance: any threat to national security will be dealt with strictly.

It is alarming to learn that our government has issued long term Visas to so many Pak nationals knowing fully well that these individuals can be used against our national interests.
