CNBCTV18.com reports that Star Air is set to expand its operations from Belagavi starting April–May, introducing new routes and upgraded services to boost regional connectivity.
The airline will deploy the advanced Embraer E175 aircraft on select routes, featuring a business-class cabin to enhance comfort and the travel experience. In May, this aircraft will be introduced on the Belagavi–Mumbai–Kolhapur and return services, increasing both capacity and passenger comfort.
As part of the expansion, several new routes and resumed services are also in the pipeline:
- Belagavi–Jaipur–Belagavi: Services to continue under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), providing affordable travel options.
- Bengaluru–Belagavi–Bengaluru: Flights to resume from mid-April, re-establishing a vital connection.
- Belagavi–Pune–Belagavi: Expected to begin mid-April.
- Belagavi–Hyderabad–Belagavi: New services launching in mid-May.
Commenting on the development, Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer of Star Air, said,
“At Star Air, our mission has always been to bridge regional connectivity gaps and provide a seamless flying experience. The introduction of the Embraer E175 aircraft with a business-class cabin marks a significant milestone in our journey. These new routes will enhance connectivity for business and leisure travellers alike, fostering regional growth and economic opportunities.”
The expansion marks another step in strengthening Belagavi’s position as a regional aviation hub.

Belgavi Surat is much needed.
Trains are always full and buses take 16-18 hours of unsafe journey. Ac buses cost almost same as Star flight.
Any Other destinations like Kgh, IDr, Jdh can be added further.
Decision to discontinue nagpur to belgavi flight is disappointing.pl re consider the decision.

Presently I experienced bad experience with star at Mumbai Airport.
There was no boarding staff was available 1 hr before departure at boarding desk.
There was no one to take care due to limited staff at counter .I missed the flight and money
Customer service and sufficient staff with humbleness to be deployed.
There are lot of incidents of sudden cancelation of flights also.
Eventhough our Dear Sanjay ji is having good infrastructure but has to improve on Customer service related issues

Everyone of us want connectivity from Belgaum. Airliners want customers to fly back and forth. If there isn’t more business hubs in Belgaum, why would anyone want to travel here. The point is that make Belgaum inviting enough for others to visit. No one want to visit garbage filled and a stray dog infested city to just come to get bitten by stray dogs. Everyone has to work harder to make Belgaum as a smart city. These many years it hasn’t gotten smart. Now it is a wake up time for the concerning higher authorities to do something.
Good decision by star air.. Belagavi is most sofesticated city. People having high standard of living. Ready to spend. Spending capacity is v high in belagavi compare to other tier 2 cities of ktk. Few madless politicians for sake of power spoiling city name. Otherwise all is fine in belagavi either marathi or kannada people.
Are you joking? Where does your sofesticated Belagavi per capita income stand. Please come out your shell. Even Bagalkote is better than Belgavi. Also Belagvi airport has shown disappointing pax numbers in last 1 year. Hubballi pax out scores your city with lesser number of routes.
