In the ongoing session of the Rajya Sabha, Belagavi MP Iranna Kadadi raised a question regarding the current status of National Highway projects in the Belagavi region. In response, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, provided key updates.

According to the minister, the proposal for the construction of a bypass road around Belagavi city is currently in the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage.

Gadkari also addressed the reasons for delays in some of the ongoing highway projects in the region. The setbacks are attributed to a range of issues, including land acquisition hurdles, utility shifting, pending court cases, slow progress by contractors, and public protests demanding additional facilities.
