The High Court has recently lifted the stay on the Halga Macche bypass work, allowing the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to prepare for the resumption of work. This decision comes after years of disputes over land acquisition, particularly at Zero Point for the bypass. While the bypass promises convenience for many, it has presented challenges for local farmers whose lands were being acquired.
Initially, the court had granted a stay on the bypass work in response to a few farmers’ concerns. However, the recent decision to lift the stay has brought significant relief to NHAI and is expected to expedite the project’s completion.

Authorities from the highways department have confirmed that work on the bypass will now proceed without further hindrance. With the court’s decision, efforts to resume and complete the project are set to gain momentum.
