Tension erupted late Friday night during a religious procession in the Khadak Galli area when stone pelting followed after sloganeering. The incident occurred as the procession was moving from Kaktives but changed its official set route.
Police Commissioner Bhushan Gulabrao Borse, Deputy Commissioner of Police Narayan Barmani, and other senior officials rushed to the spot and carried out an inspection. The procession route was promptly diverted to avoid escalation.

According to police, a group of youths allegedly shouted provocative slogans in Khadak Galli. Leaders from both communities initially attempted to pacify the situation, but stone pelting broke out shortly after. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The procession had police escort, but the deployment was limited. With Chief Minister Siddaramaiah scheduled to visit Belagavi on Saturda.
Heavy police presence has been enforced in Kaktives, Khadak Galli, and Durbar Galli areas. Commissioner Borse told reporters that CCTV footage has been reviewed, and action will be taken against those responsible for the disturbance.
